just wondering; how do you all see your poupee?
when I first got my poupee I tried to make her look like myself, and I tried to dress her as I dressed myself. but in the years that I have been playing she kinda has developed her own personality/style. at times she still looks like me, but for me she has became a completely different person. I just have not renamed her (yet). sometimes I wonder if it is silly, because after all she is only a few pixels XD

Such a cute question and one I've been wondering about myself! As a default I've always kinda made her look like myself, but occasionally she's an entirely different persona. IDK I guess she's kinda like my Japanese best friend and adopted sister/child? That's how I feel about her maybe???

nice topic I guest I like to dress her to express my imagination, tried to be creative at the same time. But I don't know why sometimes she's end up with something completely different from what I plan her to be. Its like sometimes she has her own wish and I'm the one that being used ^^;

To be honest, I just try to make outfits that look nice to my sense of style (not necessarily things I'd wear - but things I think look fashionable) and don't bother personifying my Poupee at all ^^'

Pigurou, that happens to me sometimes as well. it does almost make me feel like she wants to decide what to wear, not me. wow, it almost sounds like I am mental when I say it in that way XD every time I dress her up I like to think of a little situation she is in, like a day at the beach or a walk trough the forest, or a party, and I dress her accordingly. but with that she kind of became a person instead of a flat set of pixels. it really came with the years, and many events. I think that might be why I keep coming back to the site, when it comes to the website and the items themselves I am not quickly impressed anymore

That's a very interesting question and something I've been asking myself for a while! I think I see my Poupee as a character with her own personality, much like a character in a story I'd make up in my head, because I can change her a bit according to a situation (and also, with every wig she kinda assumes a little different personality), but there's still something solid about her that doesn't change. It definitely has something to do with the way I do my dress-ups - as I create them, a certain situation/background/context/or even a little story spontaneously grows around them. Obviously, sometimes I just throw something on her to try out new clothes, but rather than that, I try to buy clothes according to a certain scope of situations I like to create for her (or "myself" as I sometimes call her). I've always thought of my Poupee a bit like that, but her "personality" has shaped the most since last year when the steampunk items came out and when I changed her hair to the long black ones and started to always use the brown contacts - somewhat it's what makes her who she is for me. I'd never got stuck with one style for such a long time before and I even kinda lost some enthusiasm after I finally changed her hair after 6 months, and I was happy to have them back a few days ago. All in all, playing Poupee is a bit like telling little stories to myself, which is something I would do a lot with my home-made paper dolls when I was a kid, actually. And when I do my Deryn Sharp cosplays, it's a bit like a form of fanart for me.

i started out as seeing if i could get my daily outfits to match with my poupee for fun, but that began to get difficult and she's developed her own little style. she's like a japanese twin or relative of mine now i guess! ^^

I think of my Poupee as a future me. So I dress her up in what I want to wear in the future. I'd love to wear all the cute clothes like her now, but I don't have the money to fill my closet how I'd like. So my dream is to one day dress up exactly like my poupee so I can have a litte version of myself~
Although she does wear things that I wouldn't wear since I don't have the confidence, but I hope to grow strong with my mini me ^^

I've just realized that a much simpler way how to say how I play Poupee is that I create different characters with every outfit... ( instead of strangely rambling forever ) Every wig I buy makes me imagine a different character, too. But unless it's a very specific character, they're usually similar at least in something, which could probably be seen as the "personality" of my Poupee.
