*°* I love this dress up Reimu; the subtle gold accents, the repetition of fine lines, the way you combined greys and burgundies.. it's so festive and gorgeous Finally a reason to use that parasol again <3

LAYERING: MY MORTAL ENEMY *nods It would be so useful if we had some kind of feature that allowed us to move one item around a little bit, as to layer it correctly

Everyone looks so lovely! Thought it was time to use the good ole' wig again, since I haven't used it in a while. I also got this dress the other day from an upload, which made me real happy since it was one of my dream dresses. * ^ *

You all look so pretty today!! *w* @reimu, that's beautiful!! *O* I'm in love with the combination of colors and items, it's really magical~ winston, you look lovely! This dress is absolutely gorgeous and that parasol as well, what shop is it from? pigurou, I love the soft colors you used today, they look really sweet on you! The jacket, headband and shoes go so well together with that dress! qichi, haha, don't worry about the layering, it looks lovely anyway~ I really like the combination of patterns and colors you used! @winson, I love how vibrant and colorful your outfit is! You make such a cute Santa's helper! :3 alicetama, you look so delicate and sweet~ That dress looks really nice with that wig! I'm continuing my Steamsmas line... I don't really have inspiration for Christmas dress-ups, because almost all of Kath's items are miles away from the Czech tradition (we don't even have Santa Claus here), and so it's kinda hard to get in the mood for me. I think I might even join your big dress scheme tomorrow, winston xD

Reimu, I agree with Winston!! *_* I used to hate when layering doesn't layer perfectly but now I'm just accepting it and working it even :D I never thought about Santa not being a Czech tradition, or I mean, an American tradition adopted by your country because that's certainly the deal here :'D. What do you do for Christmas then instead? Do you have weird mystical figures like the German Krampus and so on? :D

I never thought about Santa not being a Czech tradition, or I mean, an American tradition adopted by your country because that's certainly the deal here :'D Omg I just comfort myself with the thought that America's Santa Claus was adapted from our Sinterklaas (Saint Nicholas) - I can work with that *^* winston, you look lovely! This dress is absolutely gorgeous and that parasol as well, what shop is it from? It's from the 2008 June Bride Event! catherineshop.livejournal.com/tag/08%20june%20bride%20event

Well, a lot of Czech traditions are already lost, but instead of Santa Claus we still have "Baby Jesus" bringing presents to children. It goes like this: after the dinner on Christmas Eve (a fish soup and a carp fish with potato salad), kids go to their rooms and wait until they hear a bell. Then they go back to the living room and there are already presents under the tree. And we unwrap them in the evening, not in the morning :)
The Baby Jesus is invisible, so everyone can basically imagine him as they wish. My mum would tell me he is a baby in a beautiful dress that flies into the room on a sledge with golden wings or something :D (but having 3 older siblings, I never really believed in him anyway ;_;). That's why the merchandise is already very Americanized here as well, because Santa is much easier to portray.
I think that in many families it's still a tradition to display a small paper/ceramic/wooden model of a Nativity scene, which you can also see in churches and on town squares. And as for food, instead of cakes we have a very lavish selection of baked candies, not only gingerbread ones :)
Btw we celebrate Saint Nicholas too, but on the 4th of December. On that evening, Saint Nicholas accompanied by an angel and a devil go around town or households and give out candies to good children and bricks and potatoes to bad children xD
I think that Czech traditions have wonderful atmosphere and they're a lot of fun, but sadly, they're disappearing quite quickly. I'm sure that celebrating Christmas 100 or even 50 years ago in villages must have been a truly magical experience though.

I prefer the idea of Saint Nicholas having an angel and a devil to help him so much more to what we have! Here he has black servants <___<

Winston, yeah, I've always thought that the Czech tradition was pretty cool xD Although the devils can be terrifying! I can't remember the time I believed in Baby Jesus, but I do remember that me and my classmates still fantasized about the devils living in canals by grade 2 xD
And btw, thanks for the info on the parasol ^^ That event was so beautiful, omg! *-* I recently caught the pink rose hair accessory on the market for really cheap, now I know that I was super lucky.
Pigurou, I'm glad you like it! ^^ Is celebrating New Year more important in your culture? Here we don't have many New Year traditions, we mostly just get drunk xD

well we do not have any tradition for Christmas and new year because most people on my country are not christian and they think that the new year is also part of the christian traditions so they only celebrate it commonly without any traditions at all But they do celebrate their own new years, based in their religion (they have two new years of their own) well I also celebrate new year twice a year so I can't complain ^^ added them all up we have four new years a year each in their own time that is why I really envy you guys and the Christmas atmosphere in your country must be amazing the only way I could see the Christmas decorations is on the shopping mall and that isn't pretty at all T.T

Thank you for your info, space! It sounds lovely! I loooove the idea of an invisible baby jesus so much, hahah! And yeah, we have our own version of a santa claus still around the time of 4rd of December (ours is the 6th) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinterklaas & it is super super racist and only recently have the media begun to question this tradition and its race-bound symbolics?? UGH T-T. In Switzerland it's still pretty racist too what with Santa Claus's side-kicks being called Schmützli, i.e. dirt, though at least they don't wear blackface hmmm... But what I meant to say about that is that they have this weird parade on 5th of december in a certain town that is so lovely! I don't know if you can see this photo but they wear these giant lighted hats that look like church windows... fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/154366_475910751925_1406046_n.jpgI can't remember what it's called though! Pigurou, I'm sure you also have a lot of amazing traditions, maybe even more and more beautiful than ours!
